black & white wedding dresses

today’s idea of the day on Martha Stewart Weddings is black & white wedding dresses. A trend on the 2013 wedding runway, one of your bride’s in April was already ahead of the curve.

Here’s Liz Leventhal in a Vera Wang gown with black sash. This hip, stylish bride really pulled it off! For the ceremony she did not wear the sash and she had her gair down. The before she went tinto the reception, she updated her hair look and pulled it back, and added the black sash to the dress. This was a great alternative to changing gowns and kept the party attire formal and fun.

Posh Party Gal’s Gift Guide: hostess gift

I’m sure you are going to be going to many holiday parties over the next few weeks. It’s always nice to bring a little something for the hostess. Although this gift may seem typical, I love the beautiful jar and the various scents and for $26 you can’t beat it. If you know what color the hostess’ kitchen is, it would be nice to match.

Available at Anthropologie

Posh Party Gal’s Gift Guide: Alex & Ani Jewelry

My new craze – Alex & Ani charm bracelets.  They really do make a perfect, meaningful gift.  Each charm bracelet is between $24-$38 and you choose a charm that has meaning to you or to the person you are buying for.  Also great for bridesmaid gifts!

They have so many charms to choose from & they come in several different finishes.

Some of my favorite charms/meanings:

peace: harmony/balance/tranquility

love: affection/joy/light

compass: objective/direction/transition

full circle: gate/karma/energy

the new forever…

…STAMP!

yes, the united states post office is rolling out new forever stamps.  there are 2 great things about this:

1) you never have to worry about postage increases because the basic forever stamp will cover whatever the cost of a first class stamp is at the time

2) they have this beautiful, colorful, fun new design – Garden of Love.  no more liberty bell.

a stamp is just a little detail that can really add to your mailing – whether it’s a party invitation or thank you note, the perfect stamp can make it complete!

Adorable Online Store

I am obsessed with cute finds for birthday parties.  I plan lavish weddings and mitzvahs all day every day and in my spare time (ha!), I like to shop for fun party items for my daughter’s birthday parties.  I know it may seem silly when one party is not until July (yes, I have already ordered and addressed her invitations) and the other not until October (already bought the art projects).

I came across this adorable online store – Shop Sweet Lulu.  They have everything from cute packaging to cake stands to paper cones and paper straws, tableware and utensils.

Everything on the site is so colorful and FUN!

I’m not going to share what I purchased – you will have to wait until I post the party pics July 30th.

Have fun shopping!!!

Happy Anniversary Becky & Seth

May 1st marked the 1-year anniversary for Becky & Seth Harlem.  They were such a fun couple to work with.

Becky was very hands on and very DIY – she had such impeccable taste and had a truly personal touch on everything she did for the wedding.  From making her own stirrers for the cocktails to stamping an image on all the place cards to baking cookies for each guest as a fevor, Becky’s wedding was the epitome of classy DIY elements.

The best part of it all was the Becky & Seth were married in the back yard of the home that she grew up in in Boca Raton, Florida.  With the help of the team at A Joy Wallace & many others, we transformed her backyard and the park across the street into a “rustic chic” wedding.

Let the photos from Sharon Eliasi speak for themselves…
